How are small text generators related to Unicode characters?

Small text is referred to as smalltextgenerator which is a set of Unicode characters. It indicates the small font of the Unicode characters. It is very useful for several platforms that include social media profiles, text messages, and emails. It makes your posts and profiles stand out from the crowds. Well, you can use a free online small text generator that is designed to create small font text. You just simply copy and paste or directly type the letters in this online small text generator tool for free. You must play with the small text generator to make fun text according to your desire.

The working of this small text generator is very simple and convenient. You simply put some text in the first box, and it'll convert it into different small text "fonts" for you. You need to know that they are not entire fonts. You can even tell that they are not fonts because it is entirely possible to copy and paste the small text generated into other platforms such as your Instagram bio, a Tumblr post, etc. Remember that, you cannot be able to do that in case it was exclusively a font. Therefore you must think that how is this copy-and-paste stuff possible? Well, to answer that question, we need to learn a little bit about Unicode.

What is Unicode?

Generally, Unicode is an international not-for-profit organisation which was entirely started in the year of 1980s. It has an effort to "unify" the "codes" for textual characters that are simply used in the computing industry. By using "code", I indicate a specific number. Computers just understand numbers, and therefore it is important to tell which number refers to the letter "a", which one refers to the letter "b", etc. Therefore you can imagine them on a computer otherwise you would be reading ones and zeros at that time. There is a problem that comes in the 1980s: there wasn't a universally agreed-upon set of "rules" for which number indicates which character.

Therefore every programmer or developer was writing their own set of rules, and whenever their programs interacted with programs that are written by other programmers, they would be required to make specially designed "translators" to permit the programs to communicate. Unicode has a basic aim to solve this by making an international standard. It means that everyone would be using the same number-to-letter "rule book".

How does Unicode relate to the computer industry?

As we read already, Unicode is an international textual character specification so it has been adopted by the vast majority of the world's computer industry. Unicode defines over 120,000 characters, whereas currently, most browsers and fonts only support a subset of this. It must be noted that the small text actually you're seeing above is not a font. But generally, it’s all in the same font. The reason is that various character sets are used. Apart from that, Unicode sets a lot of strange alphabets that can be copied and pasted into several platforms such as Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter/etc. posts and profiles. These small text alphabets are just a few of the alphabetical symbol sets contained in Unicode.

When this small text generator is developing, I could only work with the text characters that are provided by Unicode, therefore until Unicode contains a full set of small subscript and superscript text symbols I can't fix this problem. If you discover a symbol that corresponds to one of the non-translated characters or symbols, please let me know and I will put it in the small text generator, therefore, everyone can benefit from it.
