How does Unicode relate to the computer industry?

As we read already, Unicode is an international textual character specification so it has been adopted by the vast majority of the world's computer industry. Unicode defines over 120,000 characters, whereas currently, most browsers and fonts only support a subset of this. It must be noted that the small text actually you're seeing above is not a font. But generally, it’s all in the same font. The reason is that various character sets are used. Apart from that, Unicode sets a lot of strange alphabets that can be copied and pasted into several platforms such as Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter/etc. posts and profiles.
